Dr Jennifer Robinson
Veterinarian (DE, AUS)
Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (IVAS)
Certification in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine (IVAS)
Medicinal Cannabis Consultant
Jennifer graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover (Germany) in 2013 and completed an internship at Southpaws Specialty Surgery for Animals (Melbourne) in surgery, oncology, and internal medicine. Jen worked in general practice for several years, with a strong interest in integrative and geriatric medicine.
During her work, she encountered many cases, where conventional western medicine simply just wasn’t enough to help her patients. Over the coming years, Jen undertook several courses in geriatric/palliative care and canine rehabilitation and completed her training in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine and Veterinary Acupuncture through IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncture Society).
After the legislation changed in 2017, Jen was one of the first veterinarians in Australia to prescribe compounded medicinal cannabis to her patients and has extensive experience in treating a variety of conditions.
Jennifer started her own business (Melbourne Veterinary Acupuncture Pty Ltd) in 2016 and has grown a large client base since, with many vets across Melbourne referring patients in need.
She also enjoys providing further education in integrative geriatric and palliative care (including the use of medicinal cannabis) to other veterinarians.
In 2023 Dr Jen and Dr Raquel Newman founded Medicinal Plants For Animals Pty Ltd a web-based service providing pet owners with safe, ethical and legal access to medicinal cannabis and other plant based formulas for their pets.
